Mission Brief
OUTPOST 16 SECURITY PERSONNEL REQUEST IMMEDIATE ASSISTANCE FOLLOWING A CLASS 1 BREACH IN SECURITY
The entire facility has been compromised and at this stage there are an unknown amount of casualties and no clear reason for the breach. To protect the surrounding areas and the overall security of the facility, the entire area has been locked down.
All routes in and out of Outpost 16 have been sealed and all non essential power has been remotely shut down.
We urgently require any Military or Civilian personnel to assist our team in re-securing the facility. This is potentially a dangerous operation so previous combat experience would be beneficial.
Our Military team will be present in the grounds of the facility, please make sure any personnel providing assistance have identification and clearance, as the base is on a Class 1 security alert.
During the mission we will need to recover any research, and conduct an investigation into why the security was breached at the base.
The below intel documents have been recovered, and intercepted, this should be read as it may be useful once inside the base. Should we encounter any Military or Scientific personnel, we are to use extreme caution. We are looking for a civilian named Richard Howard, or any more information regarding him inside the base. His intel has been the most useful in establishing the state of personnel before the breach. We are also looking for Dr Logan, we have had no word that he escaped the facility, and have had no communication from inside since it was locked down.

Outpost 16 Ref 51.672472, 0.256076 is requesting another transfer of personnel to assist with local operations. We would preferably like military personnel but civilians with basic weapon training will suffice. We request this transfer immediately as the local infected population has reached dangerous levels.
If the new transfers could be briefed on basic infected combat that would help reduce the casualty rates of this operation. Our numbers at the base are now in the handful, with several of the civilian population disappearing, presumably to other outposts.
Regarding our last correspondence, Dr. Logan has since taken control of the Medical Facilities, we are giving him the time we promised, a little but not much, and we better start seeing some results. We are quickly running out of patience regarding his research.
I will await the arrival of the new personnel.

Outpost 16 Ref 51.672472, 0.256076 is requesting a transfer of any available outpost military personnel. We are understaffed and we are struggling to keep the local infected under control, with the ‘departure’ of our current base Major Cooper the number of military personnel has dropped to dangerously low numbers.
Dr. Logan has also requested that **ommitted** **ommitted** and Lt. Fisher also be transferred, I do not believe he has the authority to request military personnel, but this has been endorsed by our head of security Capt. Ben Steel
On that subject matter I would also like to call an investigation into the research of Dr. Logan, we are risking our lives to obtain samples of the infected and we are yet to see any results from his work. His recent advancement in **ommitted** has been marginally useful, but we are still awaiting some real results. I’m running this base now and pardon my french, but I want to know what the fuck he is doing with my time.
If anybody questions my command I am under the authority to court martial them. If the research continues the way it is going the whole lot of them will be left to rot in this stinkin’ hole in the ground.
I will await the orders regarding the transfer of personnel.

Hello to Outpost 2 and whom it may concern,
I have been told this is the best way for the public to communicate between outposts. I have been told that Outpost 2 have recently taken in some more infected area survivors. My name is Richard Howard and I am looking for my family, if you have had anyone arrive under the name of Howard, a Sarah Howard or Molly Howard please let me know. I am in high spirits as they are tough and they were one of the first to be evacuated, I was no so lucky getting caught in the traffic heading out of the city and missing the first wave of evacuations.
I stayed at home in the hope that they would return, but as the situation became more and more dangerous I was forced to hide in the loft of the house and wait out the storm. I am not sure how long I waited, but the emergency food we had stored got me through a few weeks. Just thinking about my Wife and out little girl has got me through some of the worst moments. I know some people got into the house, but they did not check the loft, I got the feeling that they were not friendly and kept myself secret.
An army patrol came by (I could hear their truck coming) and I left the loft. I must have looked terrible as I was almost shot on sight, I managed to squeeze out a “Don’t shoot” the first words I had said in weeks. They brought me back to one of their Outposts and I feel relatively safe now, there was a very heavy atmosphere on arrival, but I have not been around people in weeks so it was all quite strange to me.
I am amazed that the internet is still working, its funny that even the Apocalypse cant stop the www. They are using some satellite or something, but us public are left to using their email system, I tried logging in to Facebook, but the page just gets a time-out error.

Hi again, I have not received any reply. I have heard the soldiers talking on their coms before being ushered away so I know the communication channels are working.
I would just like to know in my family are safe. You are looking for anyone with the name Howard.
People are coming in all the time, as well as being a military and scientific outpost, the base has a small number of civilians brought in from the infected areas and transferred between outposts. I am always hopeful my wife will be among them.
I am not sure why I am telling you this, I have not even had a reply from you, but it is nice to have someone to talk to even if they are not talking back.
Tensions are running high in the base even though the Military and Science teams rarely mix (they based on different floors). The increasing population plus the increasing number of infected in the vicinity of the base has been putting a strain on the already fragile relationship. I have not yet seen Dr Logan, I am still scheduled to meet with him to be pronounced all clear of infection.
I am based on the middle floor, crammed into a small room off of one of the corridors, I think it was for the prime-minister, it lacks the sea view I would have hoped for…
Dr Logan and his team have taken control of the entire top floor including the medical facility. Some military personnel have refused to visit the medical bay for treatment due to rumours of infected experiments, one fairly heated conversation and a raid on Dr Logans lab lead to nothing but bruised egos and even more tension between the two groups. I will keep myself to myself and just try to ride out the storm.
There is talk of ‘The LAW’, I heard some information about them just before the TV and radio stopped. None of it was good. After the outbreak, prisons were some of the worst places hit, people couldn’t be released even after they were infected, not that treatment would have done any good anyway. From what we heard, some of the members of LAW are the people that literally fought their way out. These people are to be feared more than the infection. I have not had the pleasure of encountering them up to now. I came across one of their flyers here at the base, not sure why that was here. I managed to snap a picture with my phone and upload it to this email.

It has been so long without a reply now, I know there is no one monitoring this email address. I am sure in time these may be read so I feel it is my duty to record the events in this base as I believe there is a storm coming.
I have finally had the pleasure, if you could call it that, of meeting Captain Rhodes, the acting major of the base. As far as I am aware he is only in a temporary position, the unjustified promotion (due to staff shortages) has given him more power than he is due in my opinion, I would no doubt be shot for a comment like that. While we await a new base Major we must tread lightly around him. Captain Steel the head of security, on the other hand has been slightly more pleasant and accommodating, although I wouldn’t want to test that.
We have had several new transfers soldiers, medical staff and civilians move into the Outpost recently, Miguel, White and another soldier from Outpost 2, I did not catch the names of the civilians. These have so far kept themselves to themselves and I have not heard much more from them.
We are being allowed less and less freedom throughout the base, I have been given cleaning duty, this involves mopping the floors, cleaning toilets etc. This does allow me into areas of the base I wouldn’t normally have clearance for. I was called up to the Medical bay, but a lot of the areas were curtained off and I only had to clear up some vomit.
I am still hearing whispers of the horrors in the Medical bay, but after visiting all be it a small part, I have not seen anything untoward. I am starting to doubt the existence of Dr Logan but a few people here assure me he is real. Some of the people working the kitchen have been requested to take food up to him, that gives me great confidence on the standards of the Medical Facility.
Hopefully I can continue to update what has now become my online diary.
